1. In what ways does your media product use or develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

To begin, I have ensured that I have included the general codes and conventions on my cover, contents and double page spread which would be expected to be seen in a real magazine. The way in which I have accomplished this is by including clear cut images which are positioned in an effective and professional way; relevant anchorage text and the expected codes and conventions of real magazines such as puffs, slogan lines, pugs and coverlines and a masthead have been used.  Not only that but I have also recorded on my preliminary task my own self assessment of my production process, where I have stated where I think I have done well and where I could have improved. By showing and stating my own personal criticisms, I have been able to consider the codes and conventions needed to create an efficient professional music magazine.

2. How does your media product represent any particular social groups?
I chosen to have Aaliyah as my main cover page image, by having her positioned just off centre on my cover page, my target audience will instantly know that my music magazine is based around the R'n'B genre. Aaliyah was a young popular music artist therefore the types of social groups which will be attracted to my music magazine will be considerably young R'n'B fans who love to take a trip to the past with the old time classic songs and the recent gossip with their favourite celebrities.  I have also used technological convergence within my media product which is targeted at my target audience as they are reasonably young, therefore will be up to date with the interactive elements involved with the magazine which will make them more interactive e.g. facebook, twitter etc.

4. Who would be the audience of your media product

5. How did you attract/address your audience?
The way in which I attracted my audience is by having Aaliyah a popular female R'n'B artist as my front cover page image, as Aaliyah was a popular and well known; she will instantly attract her world wide fans. Her fans will also know her music therefore they will automatically know that my music magazine will be based around R'n'B music. I have also used convergent links such as Facebook and Twitter logos on my front cover page so that my product will attract my target audience as they will be more up to date and will prefer interactive elements.

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I have learnt a number of things about technology and how I can construct products using them.  One of the things I have learnt is how I can manipulate images through Photoshop, PhotoPlus and PagePlus.   I have also learned how to use a professional SLR camera and how it is important to hold the camera right so that I have the better shots to work with.  I now also know how to work programmes like Prezi, Slideshare and Blogger to help make my work look effective and professional. All my evidence is documented on this blog.

This shows that I have analysed both of the magazines I have created. It states what I have done on both pages and what codes and conventions I have used within the cover page. At the bottom it states my opinion of the two and which out of the two I prefer.
